ATC SURVEILLANCE SOURCE

Meaning: Used by ATC for establishing identification, control and separation using a target depicted on an air traffic control facility's video display that has met the relevant safety standards for operational use and received from one, or a combination, of the following surveillance sources:
  1. Radar (See RADAR.)
  2. ADS-B (See AUTOMATIC DEPENDENT SURVEILLANCE-BROADCAST.)
  3. WAM (See WIDE AREA MULTILATERATION.)
