Why CHANNEX
Jet2.com grew out of Channel Express, a Bournemouth cargo airline founded in 1983 to fly Channel Islands flowers and produce to the mainland. CHANNEX contracts that name, and the code EXS comes from it too. Jet2 started passenger flights in 2003, absorbed Channel Express in 2006, and kept both.
Jet2.com is a British low-cost airline and major tour operator based at Leeds Bradford Airport. It offers scheduled and charter flights to popular holiday destinations across Europe and the Mediterranean. Jet2 is currently the third-largest scheduled airline in the UK.
